Hollera Nielsen brings over 20 years of massage therapy experience to the team at Soothing Sensations Massage Therapy, with a focus on bodywork of soft tissue massage therapy for stress and pain relief. She holds licensure in both GA. and FL. as a licensed massage therapist, maintaining the credentials through continuing education, and has completed the requirements for biannual renewal consistently since 1994.
Hollera’s bodywork therapy career began after graduation in 1993 from Reese Institute of Massage Therapy in Oviedo Fl., now known as the Florida College of Natural Health. She completed an internship in the oncology unit at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Fl. under the direction of oncologists to provide massage to cancer patients under their care and treatment. After passing the state examination, she obtained her Fl. license in 1994 and began serving clients with a mobile practice in Central Fl. She has maintained membership in the Florida State Massage Therapy Association (FSMTA) since joining while still a student in 1993. FSMTA was established in 1939 to advance the practice of massage therapy as an essential part of health care. The association is the largest in the United States, serving over four thousand members and holds its annual convention to offer continuing education as well as the largest trade show in the industry, with the latest information and technology to support its members.
During her career, Hollera developed, implemented and has administered her practice through application of a variety of modalities studied through continuing education, including Swedish neuromuscular lymphatic drainage, Electro Therapeutic Point Stimulation (ETPS), and Slipstream (cupping) therapy. She recently became certified in Cranial/Structural Therapy for treatment of headaches.
Hollera is active in local chamber and downtown association events, and has served as resource for community massage demonstrations.
